Rain, hail and snow. Wind, storms and hurricanes. Salt spray from the sea and ammonia from agriculture. Blistering heat and the bitter cold. In reality, a photovoltaic module has to withstand a great deal and still deliver reliable high performance. The problem in terms of yield is not so much the major damage you can see straightaway and repair if necessary. What is fatal is the small, almost invisible damage that limits performance in the long term and often reduces the yield without being noticed.
With intelligent detailed solutions and the best quality, materials and components available WINAICO modules reliably ensure top performance. As all the elements interact perfectly, the result is superior quality, for which Taiwan is well known for in the semiconductor industry.
Our products have not only been certified with every certificate required by the market today: CE-certified, MCS-certified, UL-certified, certified according to IEC/EN 61215 (ed.2) and IEC/EN 61730, protection class II. Our products also fulfill requirements beyond the TÜV standard, which attest to their unique quality. For us, passing the salt spray corrosion test according to IEC 61701, PID was just as much a matter of course as receiving the DLG test mark for ammonia resistance.

Regulations and standards certainly make sense. They give you as a user or investor an assurance that certain minimum standards are met. But for us at WINAICO this isn’t enough – because in reality the minimum standard simply doesn’t make the grade. WINAICO modules easily pass all the relevant tests and exceed the default values significantly in all parameters. What this means is obvious on your roof later on; our modules can withstand wind, weather and other adverse conditions far better and for far longer. Our superior quality means WINAICO can issue a product guarantee for 25 years and a high power output guarantee for 25 years.

Hail Resistance
WINAICO is one of the world's first PV manufacturers whose modules have successfully passed what is currently TÜV-SÜD's toughest hail test, and whose modules have been certified according to IEC 61215.
WINAICO has therefore once again proven that its modules - also reliably deliver their performance under extreme weather conditions.
Salt Spray Resistance
In addition to ammonia, high salt concentrations in the air also constitute aggressive environmental factors, which can have an influence on the performance of PV modules. Successful testing in accordance with IEC 61701 and the associated certification of the WINAICO modules also guarantees long-term high energy yields in locations with a high salt and ammonia gas concentration.

Ammonia Resistance
Livestock farming releases ammonia and dust particles which accelerates the aging of photovoltaic modules, leading to declining energy generation and lower yields for the plant operator. WINAICO modules withstand the effects of barn air over a period of at least 25 years and have passed the IEC 62716:2013 and received the relevant quality seal.
Anti-PID
Conventional solar systems inherently have differences in voltage between the system framework and solar cells. These differences can lead to unwanted leakage currents which reduce the capacity of the cells and can cause a loss of yield of 20% or more. This effect is called potential-induced degradation (PID). The use of high-quality encapsulation materials and state-of-the-art plant technology at WINAICO ensures a consistent production of PID-resistant modules.

Thermal Shock Test
The thermal shock test measures how the modules withstand thermal stresses due to changes in temperature. As such, they are cooled down from +85 °C to –40 °C and then reheated to +85 °C.
Damp Heat Test
The damp heat test checks how the modules are capable of withstanding humidity and heat (85 °C at 85 % relative humidity) over a prolonged period.

Mechanical Load
WINAICO Panel fully complies with the new IEC 61215-2: 2016, the test procedures confirmed 5,400 Pa front and 2,400 Pa rear side load, which is equivalent to bear a load about 915 kg per square meter.
Dynamic Mechanical Load
Dynamic mechanical load refers to a change in pressure, due to strong winds and squalls, for example, in which WINAICO modules withstand 5,000 Pa for 1,000 cycles, which simulates the strongest possible typhoon, which effects of more than level 17 of strong wind on the Beaufort scale. The test criteria were carried out according to IEC TS 62804-1:2015.
